Endrick pays classy tribute to England and Man Utd legend after Wembley goal

After scoring the winning goal against England at Wembley Stadium, Brazil sensation Endrick paid respect to Sir Bobby Charlton, an England and Manchester United icon.

Endrick, a 17-year-old phenom, was pulled off the bench after 71 minutes of Saturday night’s tight game between the two teams.

Shortly after his debut, he made his impact by slotting home after England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford saved Vinicius Jr’s attempt to score his first goal for his country in only his third appearance.

Endrick created history with his goal, becoming the youngest male player to score at Wembley Stadium and the youngest man to score for Brazil since Ronaldo.

Coincidentally, tonight’s victory in London occurred exactly 30 years to the day after the iconic striker’s international debut.

Endrick, who will join Real Madrid this summer, emphasized that landmark after the game.

The youngster also mentioned that his goal occurred at the spiritual home of one of English football’s best ever players, Charlton, and that it was a’very important memory for him’.

‘An inspiration here is also Bobby Charlton, who played in the same stadium as Bobby and scored on Ronaldo’s debut. These are incredibly crucial memories for me,’ Endrick explained.

Charlton, who died last year at the age of 86, won 106 caps for his country, winning the World Cup with England in 1966 and the European Cup with Manchester United two years later, both at Wembley.

Endrick makes history as Brazil beat England

Endrick dropped to his knees as the final whistle blew in the capital, celebrating his maiden goal in Brazil colours.

‘I was just thinking about that (the goal), I couldn’t think about the game anymore, and it actually pained me a little,’ Endrick stated after the game.

‘It is a distinct memory. My family is here, as are my girlfriend and managers. I’m not much of a cryer, so I’m holding back, but it’s something special, and I’m extremely thrilled.

Brazil will play a friendly against Spain next week as part of their preparations for the Copa America this summer.
