Bruno Fernandes drops rare praise on one elite PL manager, as he highly appreciates him

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has confessed that one current Premier League boss is someone he ‘appreciates’ and admires for his “passion” and “intensity.”

Bruno Fernandes has received widespread praise for his performance in the Premier League after Manchester United signed him from Sporting CP for an initial £47 million in 2020.

The 29-year-old Portugal midfielder was a crucial figure under previous United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who left the Premier League club in 2021.

Erik ten Hag, who succeeded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as United’s permanent manager, is a huge fan of Fernandes and has given the Red Devils star a bigger role.

The United boss removed Harry Maguire’s armband last summer and named Fernandes as team captain for the current Premier League season.

Despite his promotion to club captain, Fernandes has faced criticism for his on-field conduct and leadership abilities.

However, the Portugal international continues to get full backing from Red Devils manager Ten Hag and remains an important member of the United first squad.

Fernandes has worked with a number of coaches over his playing career, but the United captain has confessed that he has a particular preference for one coach.

Bruno Fernandes has lavished rare praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who is likely to depart Anfield at the end of the current Premier League season.

Jurgen Klopp, once regarded as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor, left Borussia Dortmund in 2015 to join Manchester United’s arch rivals Liverpool.

The 56-year-old German has enjoyed an outstanding tenure at Anfield, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and two League Cups.

Klopp has had a fierce Premier League rivalry with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who has won more league trophies.

This season, the former Borussia Dortmund manager will compete for the Premier League title with Pep Guardiola and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Fernandes told Portuguese daily A Bola that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is one of the coaches he admires.

“We are talking about a coach who is one of the ones I most appreciate, for the intensity he brings to games and the passion he has for football,” he was quoted as saying.

“I believe what he accomplished tonight is yet another example of how much he enjoys football.

“He believes that if he is not at his best, he would not give his all to the game. And I think in a similar way to him.”

Fernandes discusses Liverpool boss Klopp

Liverpool’s chances of completing a quadruple in Klopp’s final season were dashed on Sunday when United defeated the Reds 4-3 in the FA Cup.

Fernandes, who praised an unsung United hero during the FA Cup match, said that Klopp has already cemented his position in Anfield history.

“He is a coach who changed the dynamics of Liverpool, who brought hope to the club,” he said.

“If we look at it, Klopp is the coach who has perhaps won the fewest titles while yet achieving the most in terms of the world of football, the enthusiasm of the supporters, and the transformation he brought to a club.

“He won big titles, the Premier League, the Champions League, and some cups, but the most important prize he will take away from these years will be the flame, the passion, and the new dynamics he brought, which made Liverpool believe in being [a] champion, in being able to fight for titles, and in being among the best.

“No one will ever take that away from Klopp. We’re talking about another coach who has had a significant impact on my football interest.”
