Roy Keane lauded Ollie Watkins after an outstanding season for Aston Villa and said he will play for a high team such as Manchester United.
Aston Villa’s results this season have surprised many fans, and they are presently fourth in the Premier League table.
The performances of their top number nine, Watkins, have contributed significantly to their current league standing.
The English striker has an astonishing 16 goals and 10 assists this season, and along with his tireless work off the ball, he has rapidly emerged as one of the league’s finest attackers.
Keane echoed similar attitude on Sky Sports on Sunday, praising Watkins’ performances and claiming that he has the potential to play for a quality club.
“I think he could play for one of the top teams,” he told Birmingham Live.
“I know Aston Villa are a big club, but I mean the likes of Man United, Liverpool, and obviously Man City.”
The 28-year-old will undoubtedly be sought after in the summer, with multiple teams combing the market for a great striker, but with four years remaining on his deal, he will not come cheap.
Emery will be hoping that his number nine can maintain his goal-scoring form after Sunday’s setback to Tottenham, which means they are currently only two points ahead of their Champions League opponents.
