Alejandro Garnacho was given some rest

Alejandro Garnacho was informed that he had been dropped from Argentina’s team for November, with manager Lionel Scaloni subsequently clarifying why.

When asked about Garnacho, Scaloni bluntly stated: “It’s a football issue,” before stating that he was unlikely to receive game time if called up, offering him some hope: “It would have been easy to bring him in, but in the last few call-ups, he didn’t get minutes, and there are times when you have to make decisions.

“But he’s a guy who’s on our radar and he’s going to continue to be there and he has a huge future.”
