Man United made ‘significant proposal’ for Xavi Simons to replace Christian Eriksen next season

Manchester United reportedly offered a big offer to PSG to lure Xavi Simons to the Premier League this summer.

Last year, the right-sided winger had a fantastic season with PSV Eindhoven, scoring 19 goals in 34 Eredivisie games while also providing nine assists. Simons’ haul demonstrated his quality, as PSG chose to re-sign him less than a year after letting him go to the Dutch club.

However, the Parisians quickly loaned the 20-year-old out again, this time to RB Leipzig. While Simons has not yet reached the same heights in the Bundesliga, his talent is still highly regarded.

According to L’Equipe, PSG had two proposals for the winger over the summer, one from Leipzig and the other from United. Both bids were supposed to be permanent, but were rejected owing to a provision between PSG and PSV that reportedly specifies that if Simons is transferred before next season, the Dutch club will collect the transfer fee rather than the French team.

As a result, a loan proposal was the only offer on the table during the transfer window, and Leipzig accepted it. In other news, the Reds have been advised that if they do not act swiftly, they risk losing talented Palmeiras offensive midfielder Luis Guilherme.

Premier League Brasil reports. Chelsea and West Ham are competing for the 17-year-old, who has made 24 appearances this season. United are also reportedly interested in the talented adolescent.

According to reports, clubs have been told to submit proposals before Guilherme joins the Brazilian national squad for the U17 World Cup, but the Reds are supposedly waiting until after the tournament to make an attempt. This choice, however, could cost United since the Blues and Irons are unwilling to wait.
