LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry Lead Star-Studded 2024 Team USA Roster

Team USA’s 2024 Olympics me𝚗’s basketball roster has begun to form in Paris. The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Joe Vardon list LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum as “locks” to make the roster, barring Îčnjury.

That group has one of the best international basketball talent pools. Tatum is a favourite to win the NBA MVP award this season, along with James, Durant, Curry, and Embiid.

In addition to those five players, Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday is slated to join the 12-man roster. Having been pursued by USA Basketball “for much of the NBA season,” Holiday is said to have committed to USAB officials “in recent weeks.”

“Team officials value Holiday’s two-way ability, point-of-Đ°ttĐ°ck defence, and dynamic playmaking,” Charania and Vardon said. “Holiday was considered Team USA’s second-most important player behind Kevin Durant on the gold-medal-winning team in Tokyo in 2021.”

Team USA will pursue its sixth straight and 17th overall gold medal in Paris. After working as Gregg Popovich’s assistant in Tokyo, Steve Kerr will lead the Warriors.

Tyronn Lue, Erik Spoelstra, and Mark Few complete Kerr’s staff. Kerr led Team USA to fourth in the 2023 FIBA Me𝚗’s World Cup in his first international coaching assignment.

With so much talent on the roster and more coming, Kerr and company have a good chance of finishing better in Paris.
