Andre Onana: Made a great save on Taiwo Awoniyi in the first half and made several more fantastic saves in one of his greatest outings. 8
Diogo Dalot was United’s most productive player, crossing well for Scott McTominay’s headed chances. I switched flanks with Sofyan Amrabat. 7
Victor Lindelof: Back at centre-back and in good form after some vital interventions. Booked in the second half for a cynical foul. 7
Raphael Varane: Overcame a fitness issue to start next to Lindelof and finished the game, even with extra time looming. 7
Sofyan Amrabat: Started at left-back and, surprisingly for a defensive-minded player, was better at attacking than defending. Sometimes there is an innovative movement. 6
Casemiro: He wasn’t as exposed as he has been recently, and he was participating in attacks. Got on the end of Bruno Fernandes’ free kick and scored. 7
Scott McTominay: Should have scored his first headed chance, but Matt Turner expertly saved the second. 6
Antony: In his first start against a top-flight team since Forest defeated United in December, he hit the crossbar with a beautiful shot in the fourth minute. A reasonable return was applauded off. 6
Bruno Fernandes: Set up Antony to hit the crossbar, but fired weakly from Antony’s second-half lay-off. Aided Casemiro’s victory. 6
Alejandro Garnacho: Failed to make much progress in the first half, but emerged as a threat in the second and became more involved in attacks. 6
Marcus Rashford: Offered little exactly eight years after terrorising Arsenal on his Premier League debut. Rashford is a shadow of that bold teenager. 3
Subs
Amad
I misfired a shot. 5
Kobbie Mainoo
Came in late. 6
Jonny Evans
Helped United hold on. 6
Manager
United were more inventive and in control after three substitutions. Dropping Kobbie Mainoo was a risky move, but United did not regret it. 6
