On Sunday evening, the Golden State Warriors hosted the Denver Nuggets at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
The Warriors dominated the game early on, but eventually lost 119-103.
Klay Thompson came off the bench for the fourth game in a row and finished with 23 points, two rebounds, and one assist in 31 minutes of play, hitting 7/15 from the field and 5/13 from three.
After the game, two-time MVP Steph Curry spoke with the media and praised Thompson when asked about his longtime teammate.
The clip (via Warriors on NBCS) received over 4,000 likes in less than 17 hours.
Curry said, “It doesn’t matter if it’s a starting or bench role. He’s still Klay Thompson, and he can perform the same way he did tonight. I understand he wants to shoot better in the second half, but the more reps he gets, the more confidence he has to simply go out there and play basketball without letting the narratives overtake him; that’s when he’s at his best.”
Curry finished with 20 points, one rebound, and four assists, shooting 6/19 from the field and 1/10 from three.
The Warriors are the Western Conference’s tenth seed, with a 29-27 record in 56 games.
Following the Nuggets, the Warriors will face Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards on Tuesday evening in Washington, D.C.
