Mason Greenwood is willing to turn down a move to Barcelona if it means making a comeback for Manchester United under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Ratcliffe has expressed a wish to “understand the facts, not the hype” as a potential smoothing of the ground for Greenwood’s return. The striker was not expected to play for United again after being arrested in January 2022 on attempted гɑрe and other charges. According to The Sun, Greenwood would be unlikely to transfer to Barcelona if United were interested, citing a “debt” to the Old Trafford club.
According to reports, both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid want to sign Greenwood. As a result, United has set a fresh €40 million price tag for the striker. Given his prior behavior, United may face intense criticism if they pay a high price for the striker.
Greenwood has made 24 appearances for Getafe, scoring seven goals and assisting five times. He made 129 games for United and scored 35 goals.
The attacker could next appear for the Spanish club against Barcelona this weekend, in a game that could be regarded as an audition for his future employers. Next weekend, they will play at home against Las Palmas.
