Rasmus Hojlund’s superb performance against Luton Town in the Premier League has earned him high plaudits from Manchester United great Peter Schmeichel.
The Red Devils won their fourth league game in a row, defeating the Hatters on the road. Hojlund made the difference, scoring twice in the first seven minutes.
Speaking after the 2-1 victory, Schmeichel praised his compatriot’s performance. The Dane believes Hojlund has the potential to become a 25 to 30-goal striker for the Red Devils.
The famous goalkeeper also stated that he has everything in his locker, telling Premier League productions: “Rasmus Hojlund is only 21, but he could become that guy who scores 25, 30 goals a season.”
“We saw today that he has everything in his locker.” He’s strong, creates chances, and scores goals. The club needs to better comprehend him, but there are no limits to what this guy can accomplish. “He is so good.”
On Sunday evening, the 21-year-old set a new Premier League record. He became the youngest player in competitive history to score in six straight matches.
Aside from his brace, Hojlund won seven ground and aerial duels in 86 minutes. He was also an expert at long ball distribution, with a perfect 4/4 record.
Hojlund is certainly living up to his tremendous potential following a shaky start to his United career, and fans will be hopeful that he can maintain his prolific scoring streak.
United’s victory over Luton has moved them within five points of fourth-place Aston Villa. If the club continues to win, they should have a good chance of finishing in the top four.
The Red Devils will play Fulham at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game.
