Manchester United are allegedly very keen in signing wonderkid Mathys Tel and have already contacted Bayern Munich about a possible transfer.
Erik ten Hag is eager to sign a new forward, since Anthony Martial’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the conclusion of the season.
That would leave Rasmus Hojlund as United’s only striker option, and while the young Dane has begun to settle in at the club, more depth is needed.
To that reason, Sky Germany reports that Tel has been earmarked as a potential transfer target, with discussions between United and Bayern already underway.
However, two other unnamed English clubs are interested in the 18-year-old, who can play both winger and center striker.
Tel went to Munich from Rennes in 2022 for £25 million, and despite his young age, there is already a lot of buzz about the France youth international.
However, he has only made seven starts for the German giants, with Harry Kane, Leroy Sane, and Jama Musiala well above of him in the pecking order.
Nonetheless, he has 12 goals in 54 games, including a stoppage-time goal versus United in the Champions League earlier this season.
Tel is thought to wish to stay in Munich and battle for his place, but will reconsider if game time is not increased under Thomas Tuchel.
A loan exit has already been ruled out, and the teenager’s contract expires in 2027, so any move will not be cheap.
