JESSE LINGARD made his debut appearance for FC Seoul in a pre-season friendly.
The South Korean team faced Roasso Kumamoto, a Japanese second-tier team.Kim Gi-dong’s side won 3-1, with new signing Lingard playing 40 minutes.FC Seoul forward Park Dong-jin scored two goals, while South Korean international Kang Seong-jin scored the other. Lingard, 31, recently joined FC Seoul after spending 250 days without a club. His last competitive appearance was on April 16 for Nottingham Forest last year.
FC Seoul are preparing for the new K-League season, which starts next month.Lingard might make his competitive debut on March 2 when FC Seoul visits Gwangju to kick off the season. Upon joining FC Seoul, the former Manchester United player stated, “I’ll focus on football; my personal business has nothing to do with football.” “The most important thing to me is football.”
Regarding what drew him to the project, he said, “I’m really excited; it’s a new challenge, but I’ve welcomed it. “I’m here, and I’m ready to embrace this culture. It’s a fresh start for me, a new chapter in my career.”I just want to enjoy playing football again, make people happy, and show the Korean fans what I’m capable of.”When FC Seoul stepped in, they flew to Manchester to watch me exercise, and the physios put me through some tests. “They arrived with the contract on paper.” There were several offers, but they were all verbal. “The commitment shown by Seoul showed their interest and how much they wanted me and I wanted to repay that by going to the club.”
Lingard has already published a series of photos as he adjusts to his new life in the South Korean city. He also shared a photo of himself sporting his new club tracksuit while visiting a candy shop.
