Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors scored 42 points in a win over the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night, passing NBA legend Jerry West for the 13th most 40-point games in NBA history.
Curry’s 11 three-pointers in this contest extended his record for the most in NBA history to 13. Nobody else in NBA history has had more than four games with at least eleven three-pointers.Curry is currently on a strong streak, with his only subpar scoring effort recently coming against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Warriors appear to be turning things around, going 4-1 on their five-game road trip, thanks largely to Curry’s performance.
Despite not making any significant moves at the trade deadline, the Warriors remain confident that this bunch has what it takes to turn things around and make a run. It won’t be easy, but victories like this over a solid Pacers team demonstrate Golden State’s capabilities. Still, with reinforcements on the way, Golden State should see some key players return from injury in the coming weeks. Steve Kerr still has a lot to figure out in terms of rotation, but he should have a pretty decent core of players to rely on once the Warriors are fully healthy again.
