The Golden State Warriors will face the Brooklyn Nets on Monday evening at the Barclays Center in New York.
Steph Curry, a two-time MVP, is playing in his 926th career game, tying Bill Bridges, Hall of Famers James Worthy, and Earl Monroe for 226th on the NBA’s all-time regular season games played list.
Curry’s next players to pass after Bridges, Worthy, and Monroe will be Thurl Bailey (928) and John Lucas (928).
Curry is in the midst of another outstanding season, averaging 28.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 45.9% from the field and 41.1% from three in 43 games.
He is coming off a record performance (against the Atlanta Hawks), in which he scored 60 points, grabbed six rebounds, four assists, and one block while shooting 22/38 from the field and 10/23 from three in 41 minutes of play.
Despite Curry’s outstanding performance, the Warriors lost 141-134 in overtime.
The team’s record in 46 games is 21-25, and they are currently ranked 12th in the Western Conference.
In their 20 road games away from the Chase Center, they are 8-12.
Following the Nets, the Warriors will play two more games on their road trip, against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday and the Indiana Pacers on Thursday.
Curry was selected seventh overall in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Davidson and is in his 15th season in the league (all with Golden State).
