Former NBA player Dwyane Wade has recently sold his Miami Beach property, complete with a Miami Heat-themed basketball court, for $22 million. Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, are actively involved in real estate ventures. They sold their mansion in Sherman Oaks for $5.5 million in May and purchased a 17,000-square-foot showplace in Hidden Hills for $17.9 million last year.
Although the $22 million sale is less than Wade’s initial asking price of $32.5 million, it is more than double the $10.645 million he paid for the property back in 2010. The three-time NBA champion transformed the property into a spacious 12,000-square-foot mansion, featuring amenities such as a wine cellar, movie theater, pool, cabana, and private dock.
The Mediterranean-style villa spans two stories and boasts a long, covered entryway, a picturesque courtyard, and rustic interiors with vaulted ceilings and wooden floors. Both levels offer bay-facing windows, providing stunning views. The estate comprises six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and a master suite with a terrace and salon. The waterfront backyard includes a spiral staircase, a playground, and a basketball court painted in red and black, reminiscent of the Miami Heat, the team where Wade spent the majority of his NBA career.
Now 39 years old, Wade was a 13-time NBA All-Star during his 16-season career. He won three NBA championships, including the 2009 scoring crown, with the Miami Heat. Wade retired in 2019 and recently acquired a stake in the Utah Jazz this year. The negotiations for the sale were handled by Brett Harris of Douglas Elliman.
