Manchester United midfielder Casemiro might be on the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Thursday night.
The Brazil international made his long-awaited return from injury in yesterday’s FA Cup fourth round victory over Newport County at Rodney Parade.
He had a terrific start, helping United to a 2-0 lead after just 13 minutes, but faded in the second half before being replaced in the 81st minute.
The 31-year-old has a passing rate of merely 66%. He won only four of the eleven duels he fought, and he lost possession 17 times.
The former Real Madrid man also committed four fouls, one of which resulted in a yellow card.
It is apparent that the midfielder was not at his best. We wouldn’t be surprised if he’s benched for the forthcoming trip to Molineux.
Kobbie Mainoo has been impressive in his absence at number six in recent months, and the club graduate might retake the post in midweek.

Compared to Newport, the teenager played in a more central position. He scored a goal, won 87% of his passes, and was dispossessed only five times.
Mainoo might be paired with Christian Eriksen or Scott McTominay. Casemiro, who has only recently recovered from a lengthy injury layoff, might come off the bench.
The €30 million-rated star appeared sluggish in his first appearance in nearly three months. United cannot afford the same against an in-form Wolves team away from home.
