Exploring Klay Thompson’ bicycle collection – Warriors star adopts R$11,000 bike to go to work

Far from the millions spent on sports cars, the Golden State Warriors winger picked an electric bicycle, the KHS Extended 2.0, which sells in the United States for $2,199 (about R$ 11,175, at current prices), to get to the gyms during some playoff games.

Even while the model with a two-hour battery and a 9-speed ratchet piqued fans’ interest, garnering over 3,000 likes on a post from NBA Brazil, Klay’s cycling habit is nothing new for him, since mountain riding is one of his favorite hobbies.

Despite suffering two significant injuries in a succession — a burst ligament in his left knee and a ruptured Achilles tendon — the athlete cycled before the occurrences, cycled while recovering, and is still pedaling. It has to be seen whether he can still perform the juggling he did before.

In an August 2015 video, Stephen Curry’s partner looks to be shooting from midcourt, as one would expect from a three-point specialist like him, but on top of a bike. One hand on the handlebars, the other on the ball; instantly viral.

The unusual arrival at the gyms, which contrasted with the environment and outdoor riding he was used to, was followed by a rather peaceful triumph in the playoff series against the Denver Nuggets. Whether it’s a good luck charm or not, Klay Thompson’s feet, hands, and head should remain “skinny”.
