David Beckham’s Vintage Jaguar, a Special Gift for Son Brooklyn’s Wedding, Completed by 120 People

David Beckham purchased a $500,000 (£383,502) automobile for his son Brooklyn after his eldest child’s wedding to Nicola Peltz on Saturday (9 April).

While it may appear excessive, David’s half-million gift following his son’s £3 million Florida wedding is most likely the Beckham version of the £50 M&S coupon most individuals receive from their parents after getting married.

Brooklyn and Nicola ventured out for lunch

David had re-engineered and electrified a 1954 Jaguar XK140 for his son and daughter-in-law as a wedding gift, and the newlyweds wasted no time in putting it to use.

Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, were spotted in new images motoring around the Transformers actors’ parents’ £71 million Palm Beach house on Sunday morning.

David engaged the services of Lunaz, a restoration company in which he owns a 10% share, to restore the flashy car.

Brooklyn and Nicola’s new whip required thousands of hours of effort and was built in-house at Lunaz’s Silverstone garage.

A team of 120 worked on the project, and David requested that the finished object be painted a light blue, but as MailOnline reports,’preferred his name for the unique colour remain confidential’.

David Lorenz, Founder & CEO of Lunaz, told Auto Futures about the project: “We are honored to bridge the gap between David Beckham’s professional life, where he is an investor in Lunaz, and his family life by creating this beautiful, electrified Jaguar XK140.”

“This fantastic car is the ideal wedding gift for his son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law. In every way, this remarkable electric vintage automobile from Lunaz represents a bright, hopeful future.”

It comes after reports that David ‘cried a tear’ when giving an emotional speech at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding, though if photos of that magnificent Jag are any indicator, he could have merely been sad that he had to hand over the vehicle and couldn’t keep it for himself.

Brooklyn and Nicola married at the Peltz’s £76 million beachfront home, and according to The Sun, football star David couldn’t stop crying.

An insider stated, “David’s speech lasted about five minutes, and he appeared to shed a tear at one point.”

“He was discussing when Brooklyn was born and how he wanted to protect him.

“He stated he was sleeping on the hospital floor and holding the door locked so no one could get in.

“David got a lump in his throat and had to stop and take a breather to regain his composure, but it was a very sweet speech.”
