Man Utd Among Clubs Monitoring Sporting Lisbon Duo Valued at €140m

Manchester United is one of the clubs watching Sporting Lisbon’s Ousmande Diomande and Goncalo Inacio, who are expected to leave this summer.

The center defenders have played an important role in Sporting’s successful league season. The club is now one point ahead of Benfica at the top of the standings.

According to Record, the club is already scouting for new centre-backs this summer, with Diomande and Inacio expected to leave.

Diomande and Inacio’s contracts currently include release clauses worth €80 million and €60 million, respectively.

According to records, the Red Devils have been ‘in-and-out’ of Sporting matches to watch the progress of the highly rated defensive combo.

United should choose to sign Diomande.

This summer, the team will most likely invest in at least one central defender. Raphael Varane might leave on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30.

The hierarchy has decided not to trigger an extension clause in his contract, and a renewal appears doubtful unless he agrees to a major pay drop.

His departure may pave the way for a fresh arrival. Diomande, in our opinion, is a perfect signing because he is a strong ball-playing defender who enjoys participating in battles.

The 20-year-old is a right-sided center back. He has a passing rate of 91% during his term. The Ivorian has won 1.5 tackles per game and 64% of his duels.

Diomande has been dominant in the air, winning 72% of his aerial challenges. He has also averaged 5.7 ball recoveries each appearance. He has the potential to be an outstanding player.

We believe he would be a better investment than Inacio, who is left-footed and may only be viewed as a backup, given that Lisandro Martinez is an unquestionable starter when healthy.

Inacio is also less effective in the air and at tackling. Diomande is certainly the better option for United.
