Tristan Thompson’s Touching Act: Lakers Star Seeks Legal Guardianship of Younger Brother Amari

Tristan Thompson Seeks Legal Guardianship of Younger Brother Amari After Their Mother’s Passing. Following the unfortunate deаth of their mother Andrea in January, Tristan Thompson has taken on the role of primary caregiver for his 17-year-old brother, Amari. Now, he is seeking sole legal guardianship through legal proceedings.

According to court records obtained by PEOPLE, Tristan Thompson, the 32-year-old NBA free agent and former partner of Khloé Kardashian, asserts that he is Amari’s only living relative capable of providing the necessary care. Their father, Trevor, has been absent from their lives since 2014.

Tristan aims to obtain legal guardianship to ensure that Amari, who suffers from epilepsy and other medical issues, receives the 24-hour care he needs. According to court documents, “Amari is a minor and has medical conditions that make him unable to care for himself or seek gainful employment.”

Amari has been residing at Tristan’s home in Hidden Hills, California, as stated in the filed papers.

The documents further explain that appointing a guardian would be in Amari’s best interests, as it would ensure someone is responsible for meeting his basic needs. Additionally, Amari is set to receive a small inheritance from his recently deceased mother, Mary, and a guardian would be able to manage and invest the funds on his behalf.

Court papers reveаl that Amari has received $103,475 from his mother’s inheritance. It was decided that Tristan would take on the responsibility of safeguarding the inheritance, coordinating Amari’s care, and managing his medical appointments. Tristan also intends to initiate the process for Amari to obtain U.S. citizenship, as he was born in Canada.

Andrea, the mother of Tristan and Amari, passed away on January 5 due to a heart аttаck at her home in Toronto. TMZ Sports was the first news outlet to report the news.

Tristan traveled to Toronto to visit Khloé, who had a close relationship with Andrea, as well as the rest of his family. During the season finale of The Kardashians in July, Khloé, the 39-year-old co-founder of Good American, discussed her decision to provide accommodation to Tristan and Amari.

After Tristan’s roof collapsed due to severe weather, Khloé, who shares a 14-month-old son named Tatum and a 5-year-old daughter named True with Tristan, revealed that she had offered them a place to stay.

In a conversation with her sister Kim and their mother Kris, Khloé humorously remarked, “Isn’t it funny how things work out? Why did Tristan and his younger brother have to move in with you, and then his roof collapsed just when you were about to enjoy your year of freedom?”

She continued, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” Khloé emphasized that “God has a plan,” and she believes that “God doesn’t want [Tristan] to be alone right now—and why should he be?”

Later in the scene, Khloé mentioned that her son Tatum and Amari have developed a close bond, stating, “He likes Amari. You could even sаy that ‘they like each other.'”

Khloé has clarified that she and Tristan have not reconciled, despite living together, as she has chosen to support him during this difficult time.
