It’s refreshing to hear a professional football player speak so openly and honestly about the matter. Jack Grealish has compared his “different” lifestyle choices to those of his Manchester City teammate Erling Haaland.

In a lengthy interview with the Daily Mail, the 27-year-old winger—who has been one of City’s best players this season—opened up about a variety of topics, including his friendship with Haaland, the soon-to-be Golden Boot winner.

Grealish has previously referred to the Norwegian forward as one of his best buddies. “I get along really well with him,” the March 27th-born woman said to BT Sport. “We joke around in the same way. We get along so well away from the field.

The two have formed an amazing collaboration on the field as a result of their blooming friendship off it, frequently working together to improve City’s prospects of winning the championship.

However, as Grealish notes in his most recent interview, their lifestyle choices are different.

“Everyone is different aren’t they? Look at Erling. He is the best professional I have ever seen,” he says.

“His mindset is something you won’t see again. He does everything. Recovers. In the gym. Ten hours of treatment a day. Ice baths. Diet. That’s why he is what he is. But I swear I couldn’t be like that.

“We have a great friendship but he will point at me after a game and say: ‘Hey. Don’t you go out tonight partying’. I just tell him to shut up and go and sit in his ice bath. But that’s us. Two different people doing well in our own way.

“I’m not going to sit here and tell you I don’t go out. What exactly is the point? It’s also futile to tell you that I’m here at 8 a.m. going to the gym and that’s why I’m performing well. It isn’t.

“I am performing well because I am fit, confident, and comfortable in my own skin here.” But I still like the occasional drink and socializing with my friends. That’s quite natural.”Many others, including City defender Nathan Ake, have praised Haaland’s work ethic in recent weeks.

“He is so professional,” Ake said to SPORTbible. “I never thought that before I met him.” When you meet him, you can see the things he does away from the field, such as the food he eats. It’s all the small details.

“He’s always on time. He is constantly working and ensuring that his physique is in proper operating order. And I think that’s fantastic for someone his age.

“Also, with all of the applause and stuff he’s getting, you might think, ‘Okay, maybe he’ll think I’ve done it and everything’s fine.'” But he’s the type of person who just wants to keep going and going and going.”
