MANCHESTER CITY great Erling Haaland is delighted that Jadon Sancho has left Manchester United to join Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho joined United in 2021 after a spectacular £73 million move from Dortmund, where he enjoyed a stunning four-year tenure but unable to reproduce his brilliant displays.
The winger has only 12 goals and six assists in 82 games with the Red Devils before being booted from the first squad after a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag in September.
Ten Hag pulled him out of his squad for the crucial Premier League match against Arsenal owing to his “training performances.”
The England international responded on social media, saying that the Dutch tactician had made him a “scapegoat.”
The 23-year-old was unable to regain his place in the first squad, forcing him to return to Dortmund on loan.
Sancho has returned to the Signal Iduna Park on a season-long loan agreement with BVB that does not include a buyout clause.
The Bundesliga heavyweights paid a £3 million loan fee and will pay a portion of the Manchester City youth graduate’s salaries.
Ex-Dortmund star Haaland was overjoyed to see Sancho return to his former haunts, where he will be able to recapture his old form.
The star striker spent a year in Germany with United’s struggling ace, who scored 50 goals and assisted 64 times in 137 matches.
And the Norwegian international rejoiced by taking to social media and posting a photo of Sancho putting on the Dortmund shirt again.
Haaland captioned the photo on Instagram, “Beautiful.”
The Premier League’s joint-leading goalscorer was also a huge success at Dortmund, as he soared to global superstardom over a two-year period.
The former Red Bull Salzburg star had 86 goals and 23 assists in 89 games before joining City in a £51 million move in 2022.
