Manchester United has unveiled a new kit collection that pays homage to the club’s supporter base from the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The Manchester United x Originals third jersey is a reprint of the kit worn between 1988 and 1990, which is associated with United’s climb to become the most successful club in England and was considered a rarity in kit catalogues.

The shirt features an engineered ‘MUFC’ jacquard material and a ribbed collar with red and black accents.
The adidas and club logos, as well as the Sharp sponsorship, have all been elevated, and matching shorts with ‘MUFC’ engraved along the sides have also been raised.
Adidas has also released a bench jacket inspired by legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s on-field gear. The sportswear label claims that each piece in the collection pays homage to previous garments. The collection contains a wide range of products.
Ferguson was expected to be dismissed if United lost to Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup final, owing to the club’s poor form in the late 1980s. United won the game 1-0, kicking in a prosperous period at Old Trafford.
