‘They’re part of the project in the present and future’: TWO Man Utd stars ‘100% stay’ next season

Manchester United are in contract talks with Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT how the club might use a similar strategy to when they signed Diogo Dalot to new terms earlier this year.

The Portuguese right-back committed his future to the Red Devils by signing a five-year contract for £85,000 a week, which can be extended for another year, but manager Erik ten Hag is keen to persuade other key players to sign on the dotted line as well.

Manchester United are seeking to make gains ahead of the January transfer window, when more money might be spent on reinforcements after spending around £175 million on the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, and Andre Onana during the summer.

Update on Fabrizio Romano: Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Romano understands that Manchester United are eager for Lindelof to sign a contract as soon as possible after meeting with his representation, and that further discussions are taking underway with fellow defender Wan-Bissaka.

The Italian writer is aware that the Red Devils have not used the option to extend the latter’s contract because they want to reward him with a long-term contract after a similar technique was successful in getting Dalot to devote his future to the club.

When asked if Manchester United are hoping that Lindelof and Wan-Bissaka, who are on contracts for a combined £210,000 per week, will extend their careers at Old Trafford, Romano told GIVEMESPORT:

“100% with Lindelof.” They want Lindelof to be a part of the project now and in the future, so I’m sure they’ll strive to move forward as quickly as feasible.

“A new deal for Wan-Bissaka is still being discussed at the moment because they wanted to offer him a long-term contract rather than just trigger the option.”

“They did something similar with Diogo Dalot less than a year ago.” They had the option to exercise it, but instead chose to offer him a lengthier deal. The discussions with Wan-Bissaka are ongoing.”
