Fotomac is adamant that Manchester United has made a €25.5 million bid for Sacha Boey. The French defender is allegedly open to departing Galatasaray in January, as Erik ten Hag looks to shore up his backline with an important defensive signing in the next window.
Manchester United previously looked for a new right-sided defender and planned to add a right-back as well. Erik ten Hag, on the other hand, stuck with Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as his regulars, with the former being the Red Devils’ undisputed starting this season.
Wan-Bissaka has a strong defensive game but struggles in the last third, where Dalot excels. The latter put up a monster effort in the 0-0 draw at Anfield against Liverpool, despite receiving a weird double-yellow right at the end.
As the January window approaches, Ten Hag may reconsider bringing in a new right back to replace Wan-Bissaka and maybe present Dalot with stiff competition. They are interested in Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey, who has excelled for the club in the last 18 months.
He also played well in Galatasaray’s triumph over Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier in the season, which may have provided Ten Hag with a clear look into his abilities. He is still a goal as the transfer season closes, and sources say the Red Devils have made an offer.
Manchester United are said to have made a €25.5 million proposal for the French defender, who wants to leave Galatasaray for a more substantial challenge. Boey had already considered a move, having seen linked to Arsenal before the summer, and the Red Devils may provide him with a good platform to succeed.
He has remained on Arsenal’s radar moving into the next transfer window, but if Manchester United make a bid, they may have the upper hand. If Galatasaray accepts the €25.5 million bid for the French defender, he might become the club’s record sale for the time being.
Boey may have wished to play in the Premier League, and Manchester United could be a good place for him to begin this new experience. The veracity of this rumor may become obvious as January approaches, though Ten Hag may consider adding in that position if the club can trade Wan-Bissaka.
