Bill Russell, a renowned Celtics center and humanitarian, had his No. 6 jersey retired by the NBA following his passing in 2022 at the age of 88. Russell achieved incredible success during his career, winning 11 championships as a player and two as a coach. However, his impact extended far beyond the basketball court, particularly during times of racial tension in society.
