Jadon Sancho’s future is in doubt ahead of the January transfer window, with Manchester United unable to locate interested parties.
United are ready to transfer the 23-year-old next month after coach Erik ten Hag sidelined him from the senior team. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig were thought to be interested, but The Sun reports that the German clubs are no longer interested, and the situation is claimed to be a “nightmare” for United.
A return to his former club Dortmund has been suggested as a possible route back to stardom for the ex-Manchester City player, but Edin Terzic’s squad believes he will not be fit enough, while Leipzig and others are scared off by Sancho’s pay demands.
Sancho has only appeared three times for United this season, most recently coming off the bench in a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in late August. Ten Hag blamed his absence from United’s next match against Arsenal on his lack of effort in training. Sancho protested on social media, claiming he was being used as a “scapegoat,” and he was later kicked off the team.
Despite Ten Hag’s admission that the winger “knows what he has to do if he wants to return,” there appears to be no way for Sancho to return to the United squad. Sancho will look for a new club to help him get out of his horrible predicament at Old Trafford next week.
