Due to a foot ailment, Man City’s No. 1 striker missed Sunday’s 2-1 triumph over Luton Town. Erling Haaland did not attend Man City’s first team training session on Tuesday morning, the day before the Blues’ last Champions League group stage encounter against Red Star Belgrade.
Pep Guardiola, the coach, has confirmed that the Norway international will return to training on Thursday. Guardiola replied, when asked if Haaland had trained since the win over Luton, “No.” I believe he will return on Thursday. We’ll see how he feels about it.”
Guardiola said when asked if Haaland will be fit to face Crystal Palace on Saturday, “At the moment, I don’t know.” I was able to explain more accurately about his condition at the news conference before the game versus Palace.”
Man City has finished the Champions League group stage at the top of Group G, and Pep stated that the Blue Man will make changes to the starting lineup in the encounter against Red Star Belgrade. “We have so many matches, we will have to rotate the squad,” he went on to say.
Tomorrow I’m pleased to see that many players who haven’t played in a while will be present; they will have an opportunity to express themselves, and I hope they perform well. Of course, we want to finish the group stage on a high note.”
