FOOTBALL STAR PHIL FODEN splurged on a magnificent mansion near Wayne Rooney’s old address.

Manchester City’s star paid £2.85 million for the five-bedroom home in Prestbury, Cheshire, in 2021.

Foden, 22, formerly lived with his parents in a £2.8 million, five-bedroom mansion three minutes’ drive from his new home.

Footballers and other celebrities have long preferred the village, and Rooney resided there before relocating to a £20 million mega-mansion a few miles away.

“Phil loves living in Cheshire but felt it was time to fly the nest now that he has two young children with his partner, Rebecca,” a source claimed.

“It’s in his old neighbourhood so they feel very settled in already.”
