After publishing a screenshot of his EA FC 24 Ultimate Team on his Instagram account, Erling Haaland offered a funny apology to Brazil icon, Ronaldo.
In a post, the Manchester City striker revealed his internet team, but had to apologize to Ronaldo for relegating him to the substitutes bench.
Haaland evidently enjoys video games, namely the Ultimate Team feature, which allows players to create their own fantasy squads and compete against other gamers.
Many sportsmen, notably Diogo Jota of Liverpool, are fans of the popular online platform, with Haaland being one of the most recent Premier League stars to unveil his team.
Giving his Instagram followers a look of his squad, the Norwegian captioned his photo with an apology to Ronaldo and an explanation of why he was dropped.
Haaland revealed that he chose family loyalty over online ratings and paired the virtual version of himself up front with cousin and Belgian Pro League striker Jontan Brunes.
Brunes’ special card has an overall rating of 85, while the former Real Madrid striker has one of the greatest ratings in the game at 94.
However, it was the other players on Haaland’s superstar team that drew the most attention, with the 23-year-old possessing one of the most outstanding teams ever seen.
The Norwegian, who plays in a 4-4-2 style, has assembled a squad of present and previous football legends.
Roberto Carlos starts at left-back, and Real Madrid’s Eder Militao joins Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker in defense.
Yaya Toure and Ruud Gullit play in central midfield, with previous Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldinho starting on the left wing and Kylian Mbappe on the other flank.
Haaland, who plays with his cousin, leads the line and has one of the greatest individual rankings in the game at 94.
However, the Manchester City attacker has recently struggled to reach the back of the net for City, going goalless in his last two league appearances.
