UPDATE: Liverpool star set to miss rest of the season after rupturing ACL

In a press conference on Wednesday night, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Joel Matip had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

After a 2-0 win over Sheffield United, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are within striking distance of league leaders Arsenal.

Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring in the first half after a precise corner from Trent Alexander-Arnold, as the English defender recorded his 75th assist in all competitions for his club.

Since Alexander-Arnold’s debut in 2016, only Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah have amassed more points.
