The 45-year-old former NFL quarterback is having a great time on a family ski vacation with his three children: son John “Jack” Edward Thomas, 15, and daughter Vivian Lake, 10, as well as son Benjamin Rein, 13. With his oldest, who is relishing his own football tale as a quarterback for his high school, he has been making an effort to share memorable experiences with him.

As they bond while on a ski trip, Tom Brady refers to his son Jack as the “best son a dad could ever hope for.”

While Brady and his ex-girlfriend Gisele Bündchen share Ben and Vivi, they also share Jack.

Just hours after filing for divorce, the football player and Bündchen concluded their union in late October. PEOPLE verified that the couple has joint custody of their children, despite the fact that their settlement agreement and custody specifics were not made public by the court in order to preserve their privacy.

In an interview with Larry Fitzgerald, Jim Gray, and Tom Brady for his SiriusXM podcast Let’s Go, Brady talked candidly about witnessing his older kid succeed in football.

“I believe that witnessing him play and my kids in general grow and develop is one of the greatest joys of my life. I thus enjoy seeing him kind of go deep and particularly while [playing] team sports,” the football player remarked.
