Erling Haaland beat Lionel Messi to win the 2023 Golden Man award

Last night (December 4, international time), Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham were honored after collecting individual honors at the Golden Boy event in Turin, Italy. England and Real Madrid midfielder Bellingham has been named the Golden Boy 2023 – Golden Boy award winner. This award recognizes the best outstanding young player of the previous calendar year.

Since joining Real Madrid for £115 million from Borussia Dortmund last summer, Bellingham has played an important role. He has 15 goals in all competitions so far, breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 15 goals in his first 15 outings at Real Madrid.

Jude Bellingham was named the Golden Boy Award winner for the best young player. The 20-year-old England international is already regarded as one of the top midfielders in the world, and his reputation as a golden boy demonstrates just how highly regarded Bellingham is.

Meanwhile, Manchester City’s scoring machine Erling Haaland defeated Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi to earn the Golden Man – Golden Player title for his outstanding contributions to Pep Guardiola’s team’s treble-winning season last season.

Haaland’s spectacular debut season with Manchester City saw him score 52 goals in 53 games for Pep Guardiola’s team, with the Norwegian striker claiming the Premier League and Champions League top scorer title.

Bellingham was treated like a “rock star” at the gala, as he was swarmed by paparazzi. The midfielder, who is regarded as Real Madrid’s number one player, expressed his delight after collecting the “Golden Boy” accolade.

“I couldn’t be more grateful to all the people I’ve met along the way who have helped me get to where I am now,” Jude Bellingham said during the awards presentation. It’s about wanting to make my team and country the best teams in the world, and being the best player in the world means helping your team win and being on that list. This is a tremendous honor.

When I was growing up, I think Wayne Rooney had the most influence on me because of the way he played and fought, but there were many more players from whom I learnt. I am eternally grateful for all football has provided me in my life thus far. I’m also grateful for my family’s encouragement to keep competing and having fun; that means a lot to me.”

Erling Haaland was not present at the awards event. The Norwegian striker, on the other hand, then posted a status on his personal social network in which he hailed the Golden Man award as an honor for him.
