Liverpool have been linked with Khephren Thuram, a French international, and sources suggest they are leading negotiations to sign him from Nice.

According to a story published yesterday by Corriere Torino (news image given below), Juventus is hoping to make at least one large deal in the January transfer window, although the club’s financial situation is worrisome.

Given the suspensions of Fagioli and former Manchester United star Paul Pogba, the Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their midfield in the winter, and Thuram is on their radar.

However, without Champions League football and a ‘budget in deep red,’ they may be unable to sign the 22-year-old.

According to Corriere Torino, Nice values Thuram at roughly £34.3 million (40 million euros) and is in talks with Liverpool to bring him to Anfield.

The Les Bleus midfielder is capable of playing both defensive and advanced creative midfield roles.

Last season, he personally contributed 10 goals for the Ligue 1 side, produced three shot chances per game on average, and was chosen to the Team of the Season.

This season, he has been a rock solid defensive third for Nice, allowing only 5 goals in 14 league games.

Liverpool bought Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Endo, and Gravenberch during the summer transfer window, and the midfielders have proven to be excellent additions to the Anfield squad.
