According to The Sun, Bernardo Silva has contemplated moving to Saudi Arabia for the summer to play football.
After winning the treble last season, Bernardo Silva’s future is once again in jeopardy. Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte, two of Silva’s colleagues, elected to relocate to Saudi Arabia to play.
In the summer of 2023, Silva received a big offer from the Middle East. According to The Sun, the player born in 1994 considered transferring to Saudi Arabia, but ultimately decided to stay and sign a new contract with Manchester City:
“I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t considered Saudi Arabia’s offer.” But I don’t want to give up the chance to play in the Champions League semi-finals, score against Real Madrid, and win the Champions League.”
Silva has made no secret of his intention to remain on the old continent, which may give Man City confidence in their mainstay. Silva joined the defending Premier League winners in 2017 and signed a four-year contract worth 43.5 million pounds.
During the international break in November, he stated his desire to return to Benfica:
“I’d like to return to Benfica.” Anything would have happened if the club had wanted me last summer.”
