After the 3-3 Champions League draw, many Manchester United supporters became enraged when they witnessed coach Erik Ten Hag having sex with Galatasaray forward Hakim Ziyech.
The primary reason Man Utd lost the game was Ten Hag, who came over to hug Ziyech, shook hands, and grinned just after the Rams Park match on November 29.
Ziyech is a Chelsea loanee who plays for Galatasaray. Ten Hag used to teach him when they were both employed at Ajax.
But Man Utd supporters will not stand it when their coach smiles at the opposition, particularly following the disappointing stalemate. “The team is at high risk of being eliminated from the Champions League, and he is smiling and intimate with the opponent,” a supporter posted to X. “He should write a resignation letter.”
Another fan claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former coach, would act differently than Ten Hag if he were still in office. Before being sacked at the start of the 2021–2022 season, Solskjaer led Manchester United to both the Europa League final and the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
It was also confirmed by others that Ten Hag never did what former coach Alex Ferguson did. They thought that instead of grinning and giving his opponent a hug, Ferguson would bolt into the tunnel as soon as they shook hands. “I’m sick of seeing coaches smiling when their team has just gone through a shock,” a fan remarked.
Man Utd had a two-goal advantage twice in this game, but they were unable to win. The English team gave up a two goal advantage after Hakim Ziyech converted a free kick. Following Scott McTominay’s goal to make it 3-1, Manchester United lost the match. When Ziyech awarded another free kick in the 62nd minute, goalie Andre Onana foolishly punched the ball into his own net. And to tie the score at 3-3 in the 71st minute, Kerem Akturkoglu broke free and fired into the upper corner.
Man Utd nearly lost the Champions League after the draw in Turkey. With four points from five games, the “Red Devils” are bottom of Group A, one point behind Copenhagen and Galatasaray. Bayern secured a spot in the top group and a ticket to the next round with 13 points. Man Utd must defeat Bayern in the last round and hope for a draw in the Copenhagen – Galatasaray game in order to secure the remaining tickets.
