Europa League: Jurgen Klopp could now start ‘incredible’ 18-year-old vs LASK

Liverpool will look to finish first in Europa League Group E with a game to spare on Thursday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds host LASK at Anfield, and they’ll be looking for another win over the Austrians.

Furthermore, Liverpool will be hoping to forget their contentious 3-2 setback in Toulouse earlier this month.

The Reds will take the lead if they defeat LASK and Toulouse fails to defeat Belgian team Union SG at home on the same night.

Klopp will most certainly vary his starting lineup once more, and we believe Liverpool youngster Ben Doak will make his fourth appearance for the Reds in all competitions.

The 18-year-old made his debut against Toulouse, but things did not go as planned for him (or Liverpool, for that matter).

Despite not playing poorly – probably not worse than most of the other players – he was hooked by halftime.

Doak nearly scored on a half-volley, but his shot was straight at the goalie. He also went on a few interesting runs, but nothing came of them.

Klopp may decide to give the Scotland youth international another chance to show what he can do from the start at home against a team that Liverpool has already defeated this season.

Doak has been one of Liverpool’s top young players since arriving from Celtic in 2022.

The Scotland youth international has now made nine competitive senior appearances, including three starts, for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Kenny Dalglish, a Liverpool and Scotland legend, recently stated that Doak does not appear to be far away from the senior international setup.

The teenager, described by James Milner as having ‘absolutely outstanding’ ability, appears to have a very bright career ahead of him.

It’s an accomplishment to be approaching double-figure appearances for Liverpool at the age of 18. He still has a lot to learn, but he’s in the best position to do so.
